NLM Associate Fellows 2021-2022

The Nationwide Library of Medicine (NLM), a leader in exploration in biomedical informatics and data science, and the world’s largest biomedical library, is happy to announce our 2021-2022 class of Affiliate Fellows.

The Affiliate Fellowship Program will commence in September and supply a strong academic and management practical experience ranging from official lectures and shows to assignments in functions, exploration and enhancement, plan, and data investigation, all inside of the context of the function of a national library on the national and worldwide phase. The 2021-2022 fellowship year will be conducted remotely.

Luke Kudryashov headshot

Luke Kudryashov acquired his MSI from the University of Michigan in May 2021. Whilst completing his degree, Luke labored as an accessibility professional and UX assistant at the HathiTrust Digital Library and as a Rackham Community Engagement Fellow at Michigan Publishing. Luke also developed a COVID-19 misinformation taxonomy for an internship with Tattle Civic Systems and Microsoft Analysis India, conducted user exploration for the City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation, and served as a graduate university student teacher for programs in the Women’s Experiments Division and the English Division Creating Program at UM. Luke also served on many advisory boards at UM, together with the Provost’s Inclusion Variety Fairness and Accessibility (Thought) Board and the University student Life Variety Fairness and Inclusion University student Advisory Board (DEI-SAB), and has acquired awards for his service and advocacy from the Office environment of Variety, Fairness, and Inclusion and the Council for Incapacity Considerations. Additionally, Luke holds a BA in English and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Experiments from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.

Simone Stone headshot

Simone Stone acquired her MLIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2021. As an MSLIS university student, Simone labored as a graduate assistant at the undergraduate library exactly where she performed lots of jobs together with foremost instruction programs and co-chairing the Carry Your Personal Ebook Club application. Additionally, Stone served as an iSchool Ambassador and educating assistant for the Office environment of Undergraduate Analysis. She was vice president of the iSchool Pupils of Colour. Simone gained her BA in Movie and Media Experiments and Geography from Dartmouth University and a MFA from Chapman University. 

Frank Vitale headshot

Frank Vitale acquired his MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2021. Whilst completing the degree, Frank labored on doc digitization and engineering modernization assignments at a Fortune 500 insurance policies corporation. He is carefully affiliated with the Carlisle Indian Faculty Digital Resource Center at Dickinson University and revealed exploration on both of those the history of medicine and the digital humanities. Additionally, Frank holds a BA in Background from Dickinson University and an MSc in the Background of Science, Medicine, and Technological innovation from the University of Oxford.

Sam Kennefick Wilairat

Sam Kennefick Wilairat acquired her MLIS from San Jose Condition University in May 2021. Whilst getting the degree, Sam labored as a graduate assistant at the Strauss Health Sciences Library on the University of Colorado Anschutz Clinical Campus. At the Strauss Library, she taught library courses, conducted exploration consultations with nursing learners, offered reference expert services, and labored on exploration assignments. Sam was also a Frictionless Details for Reproducible Analysis Fellow at the Open up Expertise Foundation from 2020 to 2021. At the Open up Expertise Foundation, she learned to use equipment that assist Open up Science concepts. Sam holds a BS in Biology from Gonzaga University and a MA in Teaching from the University of Portland.
