Kidney discomfort — also referred to as renal discomfort — refers to discomfort from disease or damage to a kidney. You might sense kidney discomfort or irritation as a dull, one-sided ache in your upper abdomen, side or again. But discomfort in these parts is usually unrelated to your kidneys.
